Butt Joint

Spent a few days fixing the cracked headstock, refretting, and finishing an old west german guitar, which I have reluctantly acknowledged will not help here as I have decided not to epoxy it to the dinghy.

Did manage to sand and get the athwartship beams mostly notched for the gunwales-to-be and I am now joining the plywood panels lengthwise with some nice butt joints.

Butt joints work with the design of the dinghy and avoid us amateurs from having to properly scarf the panels: eventually we’ll just glass these in and make 1+1=1.
